Water Softeners and Filtration in Scottsdale, Sized to Your Hardness Reading

We test your water at the kitchen sink, then recommend a water softener, whole-home filtration or an under-sink reverse osmosis system based on what the numbers show. Installation is included with every water treatment system. We work in homes across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills.

What Our Work Looks Like in Your Home

We test, we explain, and we install. This is how it plays out once we are under your sink or in your garage.

Readings come before advice

Right there at your tap we check hardness in grains per gallon, total dissolved solids and chlorine. Those numbers and your household size set the softener's grain capacity and the filter's carbon volume, rather than a one-size package.

A quote with each part listed

The control valve, resin tank, brine tank, bypass, fittings and drain line each get their own line. When something you already have is sound, like an existing softener loop, we point that out and leave it off.

Damage recorded, claims explained honestly

Now and then we find a split brine tank, a bad bypass valve or a dripping supply line that has already soaked a cabinet or drywall. We take photos, write down the likely cause and hand you the records for your insurer. We can explain how water damage claims usually go, but coverage is your adjuster's decision, and we never promise a claim will pay.

One price for equipment and labor

Installation is part of every water treatment system we sell, so your quoted figure already includes the unit placed, plumbed and working. Before we leave, the carbon is flushed, the valve is set to your hardness and the bypass is in service position.

Your space left clean

Drop cloths go down, open lines get capped as we work, and we take the packaging and any old unit we pull out with us.

Softening, Filtration and Testing for Your Home

Most water problems we see fall into two groups: minerals that leave scale, and taste or odor from the disinfectant the city adds. A water softener handles the first through ion exchange, swapping calcium and magnesium for sodium in a resin bed. Whole-home filtration uses activated carbon to pull out chlorine and chloramine before water reaches your taps, and reverse osmosis pushes drinking water through a membrane for the cleanest glass at one faucet. Water testing comes first, so you buy only the equipment your readings call for.

    Whole-Home Filtration

A carbon filtration system on your main water line that reduces chlorine taste and odor at every faucet, shower and appliance in your home.

    Water Softeners

Softeners sized from your measured hardness and household water use, installed on your existing loop with a proper drain and bypass.

  • Reverse Osmosis

An under-sink reverse osmosis system that strips dissolved minerals and trace contaminants from the water you drink and cook with, sized from a free water test.

  • Water Testing

We measure hardness, dissolved solids, chlorine and pH at your tap, show you each reading, and explain what it means for your plumbing and fixtures.

Where We Install and Test

Our home base is Scottsdale, and we test and install throughout the city as well as Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Cave Creek and Carefree. We also cover Tempe, Mesa, Glendale, Anthem, New River and Sun City. Hard water and scale are common across the Valley, but the readings still vary from one home to the next, which is why every visit starts with a test.

A Water Treatment Company That Explains the Why

We install water softeners, carbon filtration and reverse osmosis systems in homes around Scottsdale. We would rather show you a hardness reading and explain what it does to a water heater element than talk about water in general terms. Scale builds up because calcium carbonate comes out of solution when water heats, so the first places it shows are the water heater, the dishwasher and the shower head.

We work only on treated city water systems inside the home. If you call about something outside that, we will tell you plainly instead of stretching a quote to fit. When a failed unit has caused damage, we document it carefully and give you the photos so your conversation with your insurer starts with clear records.

What Moves the Price of a System

No two homes need exactly the same setup, which is why we test before quoting. The price of an installed system depends on the equipment your water calls for and how much plumbing work it takes to set it in place. These are the factors that matter most.

After the free water test, we give you installed system pricing by phone or at your kitchen table, broken out line by line. There is no obligation to buy.

Hardness and household size
Higher hardness and more people mean more grains removed per day. That calls for a larger resin tank or a valve that regenerates more often, and both affect cost.
Type of treatment
A softener, a carbon whole-home filter and an RO unit are different equipment with different parts. Some homes need one; others benefit from a softener paired with carbon. The test shows which.
Existing plumbing loop
Many Valley homes were built with a softener loop already stubbed out in the garage. When it is there and sound, installation is simpler. If we have to cut into the main line, add a drain or run a new loop, labor and materials increase.
Distance to drain and power
Regeneration flushes brine out of the resin tank, so that water needs a place to go, and the control valve runs on household current. How far the nearest drain and outlet sit from the install spot decides how much tubing, fittings and air-gap work the job involves.
Reverse osmosis options
A remineralization stage, a dedicated faucet through the countertop or a line to the refrigerator each add parts and time.
Removing an old unit
Pulling out a failed softener or filter housing and fixing corroded fittings around it is part of some jobs and not others.

Common Questions From Homeowners

Something not covered here? (480) 256-8478

Does my home actually need a softener?

Some homes don't. When the test shows hardness that will scale your fixtures and water heater, a softener usually earns its keep through longer appliance life and less scrubbing. When taste or odor is the real issue, carbon filtration may suit you better. After the test we tell you which, even if the answer is neither.

How does the free water test work?

We visit your home and check water from the kitchen tap for hardness, total dissolved solids and chlorine. The visit is short, every reading is shown to you, and you are under no obligation to buy anything.

Why does my tap water smell like pool water?

Cities treat water with chlorine or chloramine, and you smell it most after water has been sitting in the pipes. The activated carbon in a whole-home filter, or in the carbon stage of an RO system, takes out most of it. Chloramine needs longer contact than chlorine, so we size the carbon bed to allow for that.

What warranty does the system come with?

Tanks on qualifying systems are covered by a lifetime warranty. Some models don't qualify, so we flag the eligible ones as we go over your quote, and you know the tank coverage before you choose.

A leak from my old softener damaged a cabinet. Can you help with insurance?

We can take photos of the damage, record what failed and why, and give you those records with a written description of the repair. We can also walk you through how water damage claims usually go. We aren't your adjuster, and coverage is decided only by your insurance company.

Do you charge extra for installation?

No. Every water treatment system we sell includes installation, so your quote covers the equipment along with the plumbing, valve setup and startup flush.

What maintenance does a softener or RO system take?

A softener's brine tank needs salt topped up from time to time, depending on your hardness and how much water you use. Carbon filters, RO cartridges and membranes get swapped on a schedule set by use, and we explain yours when we hand the system over.

How a Job Runs, From First Call to Running Water

Most installs follow the same four steps. You know what is happening at each one.

  1. 1

    Phone call

You tell us what you are noticing: spots on glass, a chlorine smell, crusty aerators, a softener that stopped working. We set a time to come test.

  2. 2

    Free water test

At your kitchen sink we measure hardness, TDS and chlorine and look at your main line, your loop if you have one and your drain. You see each reading as we take it.

  3. 3

    Recommendation and quote

We explain what the numbers mean and which system fits, or whether nothing is needed at all. The quote names every part and includes installation.

  4. 4

    Install and handoff

On install day we close the main, plumb the system with a bypass and program the valve for your hardness. A startup flush follows, and we watch every joint under full pressure. The visit ends with a walk-through of adding salt, swapping cartridges and turning the bypass handle yourself.
